Rev. I Asir, founder and senior pastor of Hallelujah Assembly of God Church is an Apostle sent by God in the year 1979 to the union territory Pondicherry with the purpose to reach its every single soul for Christ. In the year 1950 he was born in a Christian family in a small village in Tirunelveli. At the age of 17 he committed his life to Jesus. In the year 1970 he obeyed God’s call for full time ministry and joined A.G. Tamil Nadu Bible College to equip himself for the same.

As a crown for his ministry God blessed him with a good life partner Daisy, a woman of prayer, vision & faith. They both together, as an answer to God’s call came to Pondicherry amidst lot of adversities. With no other source of encouragement, just holding on to the God’s promise & the vision they came to this place.

It was a humble beginning with no believers for 6 months, but still he preached to his family as he would to a church. Then, God started blessing the ministry in an abundant manner, that after 28 years this church with a congregation of 2000 believers has also spread its branches in and around Pondicherry.

God has also blessed him with 3 children, Beulah, Steve & Isaac who are actively involved in the ministry. Mrs. Beulah with her husband Pr. Nixon are serving the Lord as missionaries in Delhi. The English Service of this church is growing rapidly under the leadership of Pr. Steve. The media of HAG is directed by Isaac.
