Hallelujah Assembly of God Church located at the heart of Pondicherry is a mother church for around 30 Assemblies of God Churches in this union territory. It had its humble beginning on June 3rd 1979 with no believers but with a pastor and family having a burning passion for this place.

In the early years the church was conducted in different rented houses, and has to under go various inconveniences. Inspite of it not being self sufficient, this church had a burden to establish its branches in and around the union territory of Pondicherry. As a result of this, God has blessed this union territory with 32 churches in Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam.

As days went by, the church was blessed with an own land and the worship was conducted in a simple shed for many years. But still the church extended its vision to support missionaries in northern part of India. As a result of which today this church supports 50 missionaries in various parts of India. And God has been faithful to bless this church with a beautiful building having a capacity of accommodating 3000 people at a time and with other facilities. Today the pastor and his team are working prayerfully to reach the lost, to establish house churches in 400 villages around Pondicherry and to support 100 missionaries.
